October has been a month full of laughter, friendly competition, and sweet memories here at Green House® Cottages of Walnut Ridge Rehab and Elder Care.
We kicked off the month with a hilarious Mummy Wrapping Contest where residents and staff teamed up to wrap each other in toilet paper. The room was filled with giggles as our friends transformed into mummies. Winners walked away with candy and bragging rights until next year.
Later in the month, we brought back a classic fall favorite, Bobbing for Apples. The joy and laughter that filled the room reminded us all of the simple pleasures of the season. It was such a hit, we’re already planning to do it again.
On October 20, we were honored to welcome the Lawrence County 4H Club, who generously came by to pass out candy to our elders. Their kindness and energy lit up the day and brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
And the highlight of the month? The 2025 Senior Olympics were on October 23. Our residents showed off their skills and competitive spirit. A special shoutout to Mr. Simmons, who took home 1st place in the horseshoe throw for his age group. Way to go, Mr. Simmons.
We’re so grateful for the joy and connection October brought to our community. As we head into the holiday season, we look forward to even more moments of celebration and togetherness.
